Training as a motto for the National Sea Day!
INOVA+, in partnership with For-Mar, SPEA and Simsea, held on November 16th of 2022, National Day of the Sea, the online seminar Capacity of Organizations and Professionals of the Maritime Sector.
The initiative was part of On The Wave, a project financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants and the Blue Growth program and aimed to present the project and contribute to the reflection and discussion on the qualification in the maritime sector.
The event brought together 24 professionals and specialists from strategic organizations who reflected on the need to develop projects dedicated to ocean literacy, qualification of professionals and capacity of organizations in order to contribute to a more sustainable, competitive and inclusive blue economy. Representatives of the Unit of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (UNG-EEAFM)and the Portuguese Directorate-General for Maritime Policy opened the event, presenting EEA Grants Portugal and the Blue Growth programme. The seminar also had a congratulation by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in the closing session.
In this first public event, the relevance of the contributions and a good experience of cooperation between entities and specialists in the sector, which the partnership will continue, was evident.
