Developing Sustainable Practices in the Maritime Sector: The On The Wave Project’s Short-Duration Training Units

The On The Wave project is working on developing short-duration training units to promote greener and competitive practices in the maritime sector.

The training units are being developed in several areas, including sustainability, digital, and communication.

To ensure that the training units meet the trends of the sector, they will be tested in Portugal involving groups of learners enrolled in formal and non-formal paths. This testing phase is critical in evaluating the effectiveness of the training units and ensuring they promote valuable competences on those who participate.

Following the implementation of the training units, the project plans to hold two meetings with policy makers to discuss their integration into the National Catalogue of Qualifications. This integration would provide official recognition, validation and certification of the competences acquired through the training units, further enhancing their value for individuals and organizations in the maritime sector.

Overall, the On The Wave project is a project that seeks to create a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly maritime industry through education, training, and innovation. Its objectives demonstrate its dedication to promoting the professional development of individuals in the sector and enhancing the quality and relevance of education and training in the maritime industry.
